Malaysia (June 2015)

A fun-filled family vacation exploring waterparks and the world's largest walk-in aviary in Malaysia.

So, this happened like five years ago, so I don't remember a lot from it, so I might be using a lot of I think's and maybe's. So, I guess, let's get started. I'm going to start off by just skipping to the landing in Malaysia part.

Malaysia waterparks

When we got to the hotel, I was freakishly excited. From the window of our room, we could see about 3+ waterparks literally right outside the hotel. Like as soon as you stepped outside, you could feel the water on the ground coming from the nearby waterslide.

I think that day or the day after that, we went to the waterparks. I liked all the slides but I especially remembered the lazy river, it was so long and curvy! I think it was because I kept falling off my donut raft and just swam around instead. The other awesome thing was that all the water was partially heated so you never felt too hot or cold.

The first day or two I'm pretty sure we just played in the waterpark and just explored the ginormous place.

After that, we went to the largest walk-in aviary in the world. This means, that unlike in zoos, the birds aren't caged in a tiny area, but can fly in a 21 acre area! So when we walk in, birds sized from tiny pigeons to large parrots are allowed to fly around and sit on you.

Another cool thing was that the birds were used to humans, and didn't get afraid when you touched or fed them. We were able to take a picture and a bunch of birds flew and sat on us during the picture. Because I'm not afraid of animals, I thought it was pretty cool for the birds to be sitting on us, while my sister was freaking out when the tiniest bird's feather touched her.

One of the days, I think maybe one of the first days, when we were going to breakfast, Mickey and Minnie Mouse were taking pictures and we got to take one with them. We still have a picture of us with them somewhere in our house.

Anyway, most of the days, we were in the waterpark, playing around, or at the hotel. To me, Malaysia and Hawaii seem to be pretty similar. They both are pretty warm, have a lot of waterparks, and have a lot of exotic species.
